Mark Landvik grew up in Juneau, Alaska, where he was molded into the insanely powerful freerider he has become today. He made the move down to the states to make snowboard mecca, Mt Baker home. Mark has a portfolio of numerous influential video parts in feature films such as Travis Rice’s That’s it That’s All, The Art of Flight, as well as several parts in powerhouse production company Standard Films. In 2013, Lando spent his winter traveling and filming with Curtis Ciszek and Bryan Iguchi for his segment in Volcom’s, IP3, as well as Veeco Productions latest film True To This, a feature film celebrating America's first boarding company. Mark is a powder hound like none other that lives for those deep stormy Northwest days, and he's got one heck of a method too.

What was your first snowboard: Craig Kelly micro air.

What was your first snowboard movie that got you hooked: Road Kill.

Scariest moment of the season: Avalanche launched me off a 50 foot cliff on to my cheeks

Best trip: Doritoe mountain range in Alaska with Brainfarm, it was the sickest trip I’ve been on.

One item you always have in your snowboard pants: Extra Beenies.

Besides snowboarding: Having fun, woodwork, party, smoke and BBQ some meat, eat seafood, shoot a gun, just givin er!

Future plans: Build a log/timberframe home!

Currently: In Patagonia on an island 250 miles from Antarctica trying to go snowboarding in one of the harshest climates in the world needless to say its a little tough. But we are staying entertained, scuba diving and snorkeling in freezing water, golf in the back yard, kayaks, canoes, hiking, and basically enjoying one of the most remote places in the world.

Under my feet: Sweet Chilean hard wood mate!

In my ears: Brains and stuff, I think?

It's important for me to: Surround myself with family, good friends, and have riproarin time doing what ever it is that makes you happy.

On the calendar: Antarctica in Dec, Xmas in Jackson with Brainfarm, Puerto Rico for new years, Greece in Feb, Alaska when I can fit it in. We shall see how it all turns out pretty epic lineup if it can be linked together.

Volcom at the Vans Pro-Tec pool party
This years Van's Pro-Tec Pool Party lived up to it's reputation by being one of the most exciting bowl events of the year. The sessions are always intense and on edge all day. It was apparent from the start that Bucky, Pedro and Rune (each of which have won this event more than once in past years) were going to battle it out all the way through to the finals and that's exactly what happened. The results were Bucky 1st, Pedro 2nd and Rune 3rd. Big thanks from Volcom to Pedro and Rune for putting forth a truly gnarly day of battle. Being there was incredible and it's no doubt the crowds were equally impressed. The whole block was roaring.
